Amicus Compliance Training throughout the South West

At Amicus, whether providing health and safety training or helping to implement a ‘business continuity management’ system, we take a special interest in motivating both managers and employees. Health and Safety, or any other compliance system, should not be a chore for anyone. It should make everyone’s job easier, yet more productive. Amicus spares no effort in trying to provide a service that genuinely creates interest from both managers and employees. Please refer to a sample of the feedback we have received.

Amicus has a wide variety of training courses designed to develop competence and confidence in:

  • Health and Safety
  • Wastes Management
  • ‘Compliance’ subjects

We deliver both bespoke and accredited courses to clients throughout the South West (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Avon, and Dorset). These range from small businesses to major blue chip companies and organisations in both the private and public sectors.  We understand that no one has endless funds to deal with compliance issues and that budgets must deliver an effective solution. We consult with prospective clients to identify precisely where we can support them. If we cannot help you, we will make that clear at the outset. However, our team has a substantial mix of experience, with much to offer. Please contact us now. Let’s see if we can assist you.

Health and Safety – your questions answered

Health and Safety really is good for business! Q. What does Health and Safety have to do with good business practice? A.  The Health and Safety Executive website contains many business case studies that answer this question. Examples quoted on their website include: One company reduced average absence rates from 11.9 days per employee (2002) to 5.2 days per employee (2005) A small company reduced its insurance premiums from £36,000 to £15,500 over four years. An SME increased process plant availability providing a 5% increase in productivity. Other business case studies can be found on the HSE website.   Q. We aim to use examples relating to your particular industry. For in-company courses (those run for one company), we can offer free custom-designed programmes – subject to separate arrangements.   Q. I can’t afford to release my staff for training. How can you help? A.  We can train your staff in the workplace, thus saving your company travel time and mileage. In addition, we aim to provide NEBOSH, IOSH, or CIEH training that meets your particular needs, saving further time. In addition, we have a wide selection of health and safety eLearning courses that can easily fit-in with your requirements.   Q. Isn’t your specialised service likely to be expensive?
